Vocational Adjustment Training (VAT)

The objective of Vocational Adjustment Training is to
increase the student’s interpersonal skills related to basic worker traits and attitudes which are necessary to
participate in job search activities. This will be
accomplished by guiding the student through the following course of preparation:

  • Socially appropriate behavior skills training

  • Daily living skills

  • Communication skills

  • Grooming

  • Problem solving

  • Goal setting

  • Time Management

  • Self-concept and self-motivational skills

  • Banking, financial and money management

  • Work traits and work ethics

  • Conflict resolution

Job Quest Training

  • Job Application - This training assists and/or trains the individual in skills necessary to accurately complete job applications.

  • Interview Process - This training reinforces essential skills or teaches new skills appropriate to conduct a successful interview.

  • Job Seeking - A service designed to assist the individual in development of those skills necessary to conduct a job search.

  • Resume Development - This service is designed to assist the individual in developing a completed resume.

Employment Development

  • Job Placement - The individual is provided the necessary assistance to be placed in competitive employment.

Job Coaching

  • Job Coaching - A job coach provides on-site training for those individuals needing assistance in adjusting to employment, and instruction in learning skills necessary to perform job competently.

Supported Employment

Means competitive work in an integrated work setting, with on-going support services fro individuals with disabilities for whom:

  • Competitive employment has not occurred, or

  • Has been interrupted or intermittent as a result of disability, or

  • Who, because of the nature and severity of their disabilities, needs intensive services leading to supported employment, and on-going support services in order to perform work.

  • This includes transitional employment for persons with the most severe disabilities due to
    mental illness.

  • ADA - Accessibility

  • Basic Life Support Trainer Certification

  • Business Advance Consultant
